Our new contract

On December 5, 2025, 98% of our union voted YES to ratify a new collective bargaining agreement. Kickstarter United bargained for over 7 months and undertook a historic 42 day long strike in order to secure vital new protections and benefits that we hope will not only improve the lives of our members, but will also serve as an inspiration to working people everywhere. All of these wins also come in addition to the benefits from our first contract, with no major concessions from the union. Some of the improvements we won in this new contract include:

  • 📅 Strong protections for the 4-day work week that Kickstarter and our workers have thrived under
  • 💰 A minimum salary based on an Annual Living Wage Review
  • 🧮 Salary benchmarking annually to ensure pay is keeping up with the market
  • 🤖 New protections against uses of AI which would replace workers
  • 📈 Even better terms for our profit-sharing bonus pool
  • 🏥 Up to a week of paid leave in case of a miscarriage
  • 🌴 The ability to roll over a week's worth of PTO into the new year
  • 👷‍♂️ Strengthened protections against the use of subcontractors to replace union workers
  • ➕ Plus plenty of other small but meaningful improvements

You can read a full copy of our contract (with the signatures ommitted) here. We're happy to share it for others to help build their contracts in the tech industry. If you have any questions about our contract, please feel free to use our contact form. We'll try to answer at our earliest convenience.
